]]> LES Mathletes did an amazing job!

Congratulations mathletes and teachers 🐊♥️ La Estancia School is proud of you!

“Math may not teach us how to ADD love or SUBTRACT hate, but it gives hope that EVERY PROBLEM has a SOLUTION”

El 26 de febrero se llevó a cabo el Regional Math Bowl en el cual obtuvimos dos primeros lugares y un segundo lugar.

El 4 de abril se llevó a cabo el ABSH Math Event 2024 en el cual nuestros estudiantes participaron en tres competencias obteniendo excelentes resultados.

Math Olympics: Se obtuvo la nota máxima, 20/20 “Superior Perfect Score” en las 7 categorías de exámenes; Basic Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus. La Estancia se corona BICAMPEÓN de esta competencia habiendo ganado dos años consecutivos esta competencia.

Math Bowl: Se obtuvo dos primeros lugares y un segundo lugar en esta competencia quedando como campeones del Math Bowl también. Así mismo en el Math Bowl Regional.

Math Relay: Segunda vez que participamos en este evento, cinco de nuestros estudiantes obtuvieron premio en los TOP 10, entre ellos el primer lugar de la categoría Euclidean. Cabe recalcar que a pesar que este evento es un nuevo formato y no es oficial de ABSH, tiene un formato de juego donde se gana tanto por la rapidez mental como física.

¡Felicitamos a todos los mathletes y a sus entrenadores por este logro!

What began as a small project, in 1984, has become one of the best schools in Honduras that offers children a holistic and child-centered approach to learning. Throughout it all, Abuelita Gloria remained loyal to her mission to empower children to reach their fullest potential as confident, creative and compassionate young people and to joyfully cultivate a genuine desire for life-long learning. Our success over the past thirty five years would not have been possible without the support of our amazing teachers, administrators, students and families.

]]> Monday, January 21st marked the 100th day of school for LES, but for preschool and elementary students, that meant it was time to party.

The highlight of our celebration featured the fashions of 100 objects. That’s right… all students created a special t-shirt for the occasion and proudly wore 100 objects on their shirt. Some students used markers or paint to create 100 images, others glued 100 objects onto their shirts… no matter the decoration, everyone was incredibly proud to show off their creations.

]]> Ingrid Elvir Oyuela, Class of 2008 went to 國立清華大學National Tsing Hua University in Taiwan R.O.C.
She completed an International Master in Business Administration. Subsequently, she completed a one-year intensive program of Mandarin Chinese in 國立交通大學 National Chiao Tung University. Her level of proficiency in Chinese is now intermediate.

These tools helped Ingrid continue the business she started in Honduras. She is the owner of Nini’s Corner 「妮妮的宏都拉斯式糕點」a small business, that promotes Honduran food and culture in Taiwan. Ingrid loves to see her customers’ reactions when trying “Tres Leches” or “Semitas” for the very first time.
